Wilmington Weekend!

I am so slack when it comes to uploading pictures off of my camera. I apologize.

So the drive to Wilmington was only about an hour and a half- quite pleasant actually until a man in a trailblazer decided he didn't like that I was doing the speed limit so he flipped me off. Quite a few times. I decided to wave like I didn't know what was going on and I think that just upset him even more. I did my best to block him in after that. Took up a good 10-15 minutes of my trip!

So I call Shannon as I am getting closer to make sure I'm on the right track and she says "Just Keep Driving towards the water, like keep going"

So I do until I see a sign for a boat landing and I'm like uhhhh....

Oh no her fiancés house is the last on the left... an acre and a half on the Intercoastal.

So Anyway, once I got there they showed me around, we made BLT's and then headed off to the shower! Natasha ended up coming to the shower too! It was a lot of fun. The shower was thrown by women at Tucker's parents' church. They were amazing. Shannon & Tucker RAKED in the loot. I'm talking they needed an 18 wheeler to get all their stuff back to Greenville.

I'll post some pics from the shower once Shannon posts them on Facebook... I was writing down all the gifts and keeping track of the bows, so I didn't get any pictures from the shower.

But check out the Wilmington digs...

The Room Shannon & I Shared

The House Across the Street - you get the idea.

After the shower we went on the boat with Tucker and his brother Ross. Tucker and Ross did some wake boarding and Shannon & I did some watching... it was so nice.

Sunday, we went to church and then Tucker's dad cooked an amazing lunch... After that we took a few pics and I headed back to the beach. I then proceeded to miss my road on the way home and went way out in the country. Definitely took me another hour to get home... bah, oh well. Over all it was a super fun weekend!

Is it Friday, Yet?

Is it me, or does it seem like Friday is taking a REALLY long time to get here?

I know we had a short week but it isn't feeling that short at the moment.

So today on my lunch break I picked up Gus & Bailey from the groomer. They look so cute when they get their hair cut. They hate it, but they look darling. Check out Bailey, he's totally smiling b/c he knows he looks good.

So what does everyone have planned for the LAST weekend in May?

(Can you believe Monday will be June 1st!)

I am going to Wilmington, NC for a shower for Shannon & Tucker. I'm pretty excited about this one. I haven't been to Wilmington since I was a little girl and it's such a beautiful city. And I'm staying with Shannon at Tucker's parents house- which by the way, I'm pretty sure it's like ON Dawson's Creek. Be jealous. Here is a pic of the happy couple from my graduation last May. They are super fun!

I know I shouldn't, but I went against wedding etiquette and bought somethings not on their registry. I don't usually stray from things the couple wants and/or needs, but I saw these platters at this store & had to get them!

Ok & I couldn't find a picture of the other one on-line, but it's a square, silver platter with two palmetto trees in it. I also got them stands. I feel like they are gifts that they wouldn't buy for themselves, ya know?

Ok bloggettes- yea, I'm going with bloggettes - I hope you all have a great weekend!

Oh & P.S. - Bath & Body Works is having their Semi-Annual Sale starting June 1st. You know what that means- Wallflowers for $5.00!!! It's usually when I stock up and buy for like 6 months.

Shower #29348238472

Ok, So not really 29348238472.... I just like hitting a bunch of numbers on the keyboard. It kind of feels like it though... as I've said before, I love wedding stuff, please don't get me wrong! It's just a lot of traveling! (Speaking of, I need to get my oil changed before this weekend's trip to Wilmington, NC)

So here are some of the pics from the shower in Columbia two weekends ago... Everything turned out so well and Kristin & Nate got a lot of fun stuff!

Is it me, or does spring time = busy?

I feel like when the temperature goes above 75 degrees, chaos ensues. Am I the only one who feels that way?

Let me give you an update on the madness...

#1- Sickness. I think I'm either getting a head cold, or my allergies are deciding to show up. My nose is a

You're welcome for that image.

#2- Bike Week. Ugh, need I say more? This year is going to be interesting for many different reasons...
  1. The place I work is heavily involved in bike week, so I've been making a TON of stuff for them.
  2. The City of Myrtle Beach has passed a law that bikers must wear a helmet (OH NO!) & the bikers are all pissed off so they are "not coming". So instead of Myrtle Beach being the official city who is sponsoring Bike Week, Murrells Inlet, Socastee, Garden City, Surfside, North Myrtle Beach, Conway, etc. are still encouraging the bikers to come. (300,000 extra people means a lot of $$ to local businesses around here) Well to make a long story short, a group has formed called BOOST (Business Owners Organized to Save Tourism) and they have sued the City of Myrtle Beach and are going to sue Horry County as well for taking away their business. Guess what- my boss is a founder of BOOST. It's been great for me design wise- I've stayed busy since I started here, but now, 2 days away from Bike Week starting, I am doing a ton of random things to help everyone be prepared.

  3. The place I work is also centrally located in Murrells Inlet in the HEART of where ALL the biker bars are. It is going to be SO loud and SO crazy starting on Friday. I'm seriously considering bringing ear plugs to work.

(Can you tell I like to make lists? And lists inside of lists?)

#3- Weddings/Showers. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this time of year because of weddings & showers, but it does add to the daily list of making invitations (yay), buying shower presents, planning showers, buying bridesmaid dresses, buying wedding presents, you get the idea. I need to be more organized since the two weddings I am a bridesmaid in are BACK to BACK weekends in July. Oh, and both out of town. Lovely! I am so excited for both of these weddings b/c I love the brides and grooms SO much and they are going to be SUPER fun weddings, but ya know... it's just busy!

  • Shower in Columbia- May 17th
  • Shower in Wimington- May 30th
  • Shower in Columba- June 13th
  • Girly weekend in Charleston- June 26-28
  • Girly Weekend in MB (thank God) - July 19-21
  • Wedding in Greenville- July 18
  • Wedding in Columbia- July 25
#4- Graduations - now this isn't as time consuming as the weddings, but still exciting! My friend Emma is graduating from Coastal on Saturday @ 8:30 in the morning, outside on the football field. Joy. Ha, I'm super excited for her though! She is also having a graduation par-tay May 15th at her house- gonna be awesome.

Then there are the random things that I'll be committed too- i.e. American Idol Finale, Mother's Day, Working on my tan for all said weddings, Scheduling apointments (hair & nails), and finally... ENJOYING SUMMER!

Monday, April 20

Yay!

So I'm back from my super busy weekend! It was so much fun ya'll- I really miss my college girls. Sometimes, I feel like a different person around them- is that weird? Oh well.

Shower on Friday went great- there were probably around 30ish people that came. We had a barbeque, played a game, and then opened presents! Suzanne & Charlie got some really nice stuff! It was really great seeing all my Shandon peeps :o)

The Bridesmaids that came to the shower.

Me, Megan & Renae- My small group leaders sophomore year.

Tricia, Me, Suzanne (the Bride!), Kristin & Kaci- my bible study girls from last semester!

I left on Saturday morning to head up to Greenville with Natasha, got there around 1, changed, got ready for Shannon's shower. It ended up going really well- I was technically a hostess for that one. (I did the invitations, duh.) Natasha had a really fun game- all questions about how well we all knew Shannon... I did okay- I only missed 5 out of 16. Some of them were pretty specific! We stayed the night there, and Shannon showed us where the wedding & reception is going to be. Greenville is such a fun place, even though I only saw a little bit, I can't wait for her wedding weekend!

Shannon opening all her presents!

All the ladies at the end of the shower!

After all that, we drove home Sunday. What a long day. I will have to say- I took the best nap EVER when I got home. There's nothing like coming home to your own bed!

And let me say I am SO EXCITED to have gotten my first blogger award! Emily on From the Land of Cotton (Fellow Gamecock Gal) gave it to me!!! I am super jazzed!

Okay, so the goals of this award are:

1. As a dedication for those who love blogging and love to encourage friendships through blogging.
2. To seek the reasons why we all love blogging.
3. Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it.
4. Don't forget to mention the person who gives you the award.
5. Answer the award's question by writing the reason why you love blogging.
6. Tag and distribute the award to as many people as you like.
7. Don't forget to notify the award receivers and put their links in your post

So why do I love blogging? I'm going to have to credit my friend Jenna for that- it started innocently enough- who could find the cutest backgrounds! ha, but seriously... I love reading about everyone's life- it makes me feel a little more normal. I love sharing my thoughts and feelings with any & everyone who feels like reading about me! I also love checking out all the cute pretty stuff on everyone's blogs! I've encouraged some of my Cola people to start them so I can keep up with their lives on a more daily basis!

I'm going to give this award to Jenna at The Chic & Sassy Southern Newlywed, My favorite Gap Gal at KikiBee & Angela at The Preppy Polka Dot. I love reading these ladies' thoughts!

Don't forget to tell us why you love blogging, girls, and tag some others to join in on the fun! Thanks again Emily!!!!!!!!

Gus wanted to make an appearance this evening- He's a pill. A Cute one though :o)

im leaving work a bit early for suzanne's shower/bbq tonight in columbia, then tomorrow morning, i'm headed to greenville for shannon's kitchen shower! it's going to be a lot of driving, but it's totally worth spending a weekend with my college girls who i miss SO much! i have been SO blessed to have met some of the most amazing friends in college. even though i've only known them for 2, 3, or 4 years- i know they will be life-long friends. it's going to be too much fun :o)

i hope everyone else has a fantastic weekend, i'll be sure to post some pics from the showers when i return sunday!

Blogging from Bed

So it's one of those lazy Saturdays... my favorite!

My weekend started Thursday afternoon since we had Good Friday off from work. My friend Emma who has been interning in Daytona Beach, FL came home and we hung out a little bit. It was great to catch up. She had a not so fun time down there, so she's glad to be back :o)

Friday, stopped by Kohls to see if they had the tennis shoes I've been wanting in my size... they didn't. So I ended up with these:

They aren't the ones I wanted, but they are super comfy. I just pray they don't give me blisters.

After Kohls, I met up with Emma & Jenna and we tore up some WaHo... (Waffle House). Man, that place is good.

We headed up to the outlet stores since I had tons of coupons. I, of course, blew through all my spending money at the Gap Outlet. Let me show you my super cute finds!

This is the magenta camisole that I've been wanting from there. Yesterday, they were 50% off!

A navy & white striped tank- I know I'm going to get a lot of wear out of this shirt. I'm thinking about putting it under my bright sunshine yellow cardigan I got a few weeks ago.

My newest obsession: Bright Yellow. I love this bright yellow striped rugby shirt! Know what makes it better? It was $7.99 & then an additional 15% off!

This super cute floral green cardigan is what I'm planning on wearing for Easter. Maybe with some white pants?

I got this dress for a wedding shower I have to go to this coming weekend. It's so cute on! I think I'm going to wear a coral cardigan on top since my arms are SUPER white. People are just going to have to deal with the pale legs. No hiding those.

We dilly-dallied around there some more before starting the apartment hunt!

Emma & I are going to try to find an apartment. We don't have the funds right now, but we're hoping by the end of May we'll be able to have saved enough to PEACE OUT of our parents' house. Jenna came too & acted as our spokeswoman. We called a few places & stopped by some rental offices. All together we went to about 5-6 places and there were about 2-3 I really liked. Some places were closed b/c of Good Friday, but hopefully we'll be able to find something cute & cheap when the time comes!

Anyway... I hope everyone is enjoying their Easter weekend- I know I am. I hope everyone takes some time to remember the Easter story tomorrow and the awesomeness that is the resurrection! God is so good!

Need Custom Invitations?

So I totally forgot that I told Kiki I'd post some of my invites that I've made for some friends...

Ta-Da!

Most of these were inspired from other designs I found on-line. So if any of you are throwing showers this upcoming wedding season- let me know if you need any invites!
