So as you are reading this, I'll be on my way to the eye doctor for the FOURTH time in a year. I'd like to point out that every time I've gone, I've had to get a new contact prescription. I mean, really?
Some background info about my eyes:
- Got my 1st pair of glasses in 5th grade (10 years old)
- Dad got glasses in 6th grade (11 years old)
- Dad's eyes have significantly gotten worse---i.e. in 2002 he had a detached retina followed by lens replacement surgery.
- In 2004, Dad receives cataract surgery in left eye, is told he has another cataract in right eye, but not bad enough to remove it with the lens replacement surgery.
Which leads me to today- 4th time in one year (365 days) that I will be marching into my eye doctor's office. I should get a frequent customer card. And, I also blame my father.
If anyone is interested, my prescription going in there today for my contacts in -10.5 in both eyes. I don't know how much worse it can get.
I'll be sure to let you know how it goes when I get back!

ohh no, this is so not fun. I think youre right, you need a frequent eye doctor card, or at least they need to have some good treats for you waiting when you come! No fun
NOT a good time. My bff has the same prescription you have. Mine are pretty bad (-5.00) but they have leveled off for the moment. My mom is legally blind without her glasses so I'm worried about the future too! I hope there isn't too much a change for you!
No fun! I had lasik done several years ago. I think your eyes have to stay at the same prescription for a while before they will let you do it. Definitely worth checking out.
What a nightmare! My eyes are only 2.5 in each eye, and I feel like I can't see. I do want new glasses though seeing all these fun frames!
Oh that sucks. I can relate. I got glasses when I was 2. I've been dealing with eye drama my whole life. Good luck!
