Ok, so I hope you all have a sense of humor about this...

A while back I came across this book called 11,002 things to be miserable about. It's hilarious. These writers must have just sat around forever thinking of things to put in this book. They describe their book as "a much-needed antidote to our culture of raging optimism-greeting cards, self-help books, and all the other ineffective ways we try to make ourselves feel better about existence."

So without further adieu, I bring to you, Miserable Mondays. B/c who really likes Mondays anyway?

  • Logging
  • Legal Fees
  • Ex-best friends
  • Unmarked Police Cars
  • Downed power lines
  • Personal injury lawyers
  • Magazines that speculate incessantly over which celebrities are pregnant
  • The Secret
  • Not knowing the secret
  • Blemishes
  • Sitting on a bee
  • Late night subway service charges
  • Stuttering
  • Shredder
  • Not having any money
  • Eating too much cotton candy
  • Feeling guilty about not riding your bike to work
  • The cost of car insurance
  • Getting a worm in your apple
  • Pleather
  • Bunions
  • Strikes
  • Outs
  • Baby squirrels that fall out of trees and die
  • Carsickness
  • Mice in restaurant kitchens
  • Howling dogs
  • Howling babies
  • Pamela Anderson
And there you have it! The first week of Miserable Mondays! Enjoy!

Update...

So I feel like I haven't updated in a while. (other than Gus and MJ)

I promise I'm still here!

Work has been insane. Ya'll, I have to find something new. It's a bad environment. It's definitely not what I thought I'd be doing. There's a lot of backwards things that go on and I don't want anything to do with it. Hopefully within the next month I'll be gone. I'm trying to hold out until after these weddings are over so I'll have some money for those.

Speaking of weddings, I finished Shannon's 200 wedding programs! They turned out really cute. I'll be bringing them up with me to Greenville next weekend for the wedding.

(That's Natasha being an amazing friend helping with the programs.)

So yea, wedding #1 is this coming Saturday, the 18th, in Greenville. I just picked up my dress from the alterations place today. I'm really excited to spend time with those girls. One of the bridesmaids (roomie from junior year) just got a job with Boeing, in Philadelphia so this will be one of the last hang out times I'll have with her.

The following weekend is wedding #2. I have have have to find a date for this wedding. My ex will be there as an usher with his WIFE. ugh. So you get the idea.

It sounds like everyone had a fun Fourth. I laid out by the pool and watched fireworks at the beach. Nothing amazing but super relaxing.

I also got my hair done last week. I love it when it's SUPER blonde.

I also did the invitations for the rehearsal dinner. I think they turned out super fun.

Tonight I went and got ice cream with my pops. He's such a good sport :o)

Well, I hope you all have a great weekend! I'm planning on hanging with Natasha tomorrow to watch a Michael Jackson concert that we found :o) and probably tiddying up my room/desk. I need to get organized before the weddings! Night lovelies!

Happy 1st Birthday Gus the Bus!

So today Gus turned one. I can't believe it! It seems like we just got him a few weeks ago. I went up to The Baker's Dog today, a local dog bakery, to see what kind of goodies I could score. I ended up getting a mini-cake and some treats for Bailey too, can't leave him out :o) Paul, the owner, also threw in a few free samples of their treats! Gus LOVED his cake and ate it in .5 seconds. Here's to another year Gussy!

It's so weird...

that Michael Jackson is dead.

I know the media is eating up every minute of it, but it is a big deal.

I was and am a huge MJ fan. I grew up listening to "Beat It", "Thriller" and "Bad". My mom and I used to have dance parties in my living room to Off the Wall. I remember watching his concerts on TV and wishing I could be there, but also wondering why so many people kept passing out? People don't pass out anymore like they used to.

I remember dancing to his music at weddings and parties. Even though I didn't actually know him, I feel like I did. I know that may sound weird, but I don't care. I really do miss him.

I wish people would move on concerning all of his bad press. Don't dwell on things you'll never know, and frankly isn't your business. Yes, he grew up in the spot light and God only knows how that scarred him, but as a performer- no one will ever compare. God gave him an amazing talent and I am so grateful he was able to share it with me.

Does Anyone else love it when this happens?

I love when I pull up to Taco Bell's drive-thru and they say:

"Welcome to the Border, May I take your order?"

I seriously giggle like a little girl every time.

Is anyone out there in need of a graphic designer?

Because I definitely need a new job.

Pronto.

The place I work is very unorganized and not established at all. There is no structure whatsoever. Everything is "oh let's try this... wait, what? that didn't work? weird."

I want to be some place where the people above me know what they are doing and I can learn from. I don't want to be some place where my "boss" has asked me in the last 3 months THREE times to come pick him up in the morning. FROM HIS GIRLFRIEND'S APARTMENT. Ok, #1- not professional AT ALL. #2- Why the crap can't his g/f take him to work? #3- if it were my b/f who couldn't get to work for whatever reason, I surely wouldn't want some girl he worked with driving him around. I would want to take him. #4- he gets all up in my car wearing his STRONG stinky cologne... ugh, I want to gag. And ya know, I can't say no when he asks to pick him up b/c I have to be in that tiny "office" with him for the next 8 hours, ya know? I don't like confrontation.

When I joined my current workplace I really thought they had a good thing going, but now I see that the owner wants to just make a buck the quickest and cheapest way he can. And I get that, I really do, but ya know, you didn't hire me to do payroll, drive around the beach passing out coupons, write checks, do whatever "marketing" you think of at the spur of the moment, etc. I am a graphic designer. And sure, I can do all those other things, and every now and then it's nice to change the pace, but come on. I want to be designing things. I didn't go to college and get a degree so I could sit in a non-air conditioned "office" with someone who wears WAY to much man perfume. I want a CAREER, not just a job.

So, if anyone out there wants to hire me, I AM AVAILABLE!

Thanks for listening to my rant.

Vacay Recap

I am super proud of me and my dad. We were gone for 8 days and we managed to see 17 family members! Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, a grandpa & a great aunt! We stopped in Harrisonburg, VA, West Oneonta, NY, Clearbrook, VA & Springfield, VA. We saw 4 little league games, 2 movies (Transformers 2 & Year One) and 1 swim meet that lasted 5 hours. Went to Dairy Queen (where my cousin has her fist job!) 3 times and went shopping at the mall in Albany, NY and played about a billion games of poker. We also consumed way too many cupcakes, that weren't actually cupcakes at all- more like mini cakes. They were huge! Anyway, here are some pics from the trip!

Ok, I'm not related to this kid, but I had to document this... there were a lot of other guy swimmers at the meet and he was the ONLY one wearing a speedo. My 8 year old cousin said "Oh yea, he's a show off..." haha it was too funny.

My Sweet Cousin Kristina.

Massive Cupcakes.

Me & Joe @ the movie theater.

Me, Apple and H&M. Good Day.

Can't read my, Can't read my, no he can't read my poker face...

Annie & myself at the boys game...

Before the Rain...

After the rain...

I got soaked. Straight up.

Last Day.

Me & my 92 year old grandpa still going strong!

Question for the day...

Does anyone else feel this way?

When you would like time to hurry up to seems to drag on and on, but when you want it to slow down, you can't seem to catch up.

Ugh.

Finally back in the south!

I finally made it back to SC last night around 8:30. We ended up taking an extra day for vacay (totally worth it) but we didn't get home till late last night and the only thing I did was shower and hit the hay.

So here I am at work- and I want to quit. More about this later.

I promise to have an update with pictures of my time away!

I've kept up on my reader but I've missed you all!!

Be back later...
